The Hazel Plant Grows in Juneau

After a summer of rockin' travels and visits, we settled into our little evolving urban homestead in the valley. My family came for a visit and while they didn't get anything on their hunt, we sure got a lovely chicken coop out of it!

Hazel's love affair with chickens begins...
 Brave (poor) chicken.

 The finished coop!

 Beautiful sunsets at Berners Bay.
Can you spot our boat afloat...rocks?

 Oh Gus...he lives the life.
Poor sick little rosy cheeked Hazel, passed out when she had a cold.
 Window-watching friends...
Don't feel sorry for them...ok, maybe for Gus since it was his first time, but Fern is on her 10th porcupine quill life.

One of maybe 5 sunny days this summer.
 Hazel's first significant bloody lip.

The baby chicks in their brooder.
Hazel's first successful attempt eating with a fork!
Brahma Mama (who now is a Papa)
 Going on a rainforest walk.
 Bike ride!!
I pick my dad up in style at the airport...it was his 55th birthday so he got the senior citizen treatment.
 The coop naked.
Baby chicks moved into the coop!
Hazel got really dirty that day...quickest way to get her clean, eh?
Sister Am, me and my Momma Deb.
 Nugget Falls!

She thinks she's a dog...who can blame her, her only siblings are animals!

Surprise Visit from Nana & Papa

Papa and Nana from Montana surprised us with a visit right in time for Hazel's first birthday...yee haw!

Summer Fun and Heat in Indiana

Hazel and I landed in my hometown just a few days ago and we've been nonstop since! Here are the beginning of many pictures from our hot, but ridiculously fun filled family trip!

 Hazel LOVES chickens.

 First boat ride evah!
Floating with Aunt Apey and Momma.
Yay for warm weather and finally wearing a bathing suit!
Riding on the carousel.
